Christoph Knopp (born in 1976) began his craft career at the age of 16, when he began training as a woodwind instrument maker with Oskar Adler (German clarinets ) and Gebrüder Mönnig (flutes and piccolo) in Markneukirchen (Germany). After his apprenticeship (1996 with honors) he worked for another year in the flute workshop of Gebrüder Mönnig to learn not just build an instrument but fix all kind of problems.

In 1997 he began his work in his father‘s shop Musikhaus Arthur Knopp in Saarbrücken (Germany). There he was reponsible for the workshop and sale of wind instruments.

In 2001 he completed his master’s examination as a woodwind maker at the chamber of Chemnitz (Germany).

2023 it was time for a new beginning. He founded his new business Musikatelier Christoph Knopp where he focusses even more on the manual work than the sales part.

He has been a passionate craftsman - reparing and maintaining woodwinds –, salesman and a professional consultant for his clients for more than 20 years. His job is also a vocation – he likest o take time for extensive consultations and loves the manual woork an woodwinds. The satisfaction of his customers is his top priority, amateur or professional. He’s always here for his customer’s requirements and to advice if needed.

Christoph Knopp lives with his wife and daughter in a rural suburb of Saarbrücken.

Musikatelier Christoph Knopp was founded 2023 – as the name suggests – by Christoph Knopp. He always wanted to have more time for his manual work and focus on the clients and their instruments so the new store has a smaller range and the workshop ist he centerpiece. In addition tot he workshop he and his employees sell wind instruments and digital pianos.
